Culture & Reunification Education

Through campaigns, projects, and forums, GFI works to create spaces where individuals can learn more about the division of the two Koreas and the importance of a peaceful reunification. Additionally, GFI provides mentorship programs that equip and prepare young adults to join the workforce.

YOUTH CAPACITY BUILDING FOR REUNIFICATION
YOUTH MENTORSHIP PROGRAM
GFI’s Youth Mentorship Program believes in the power to “transform one person’s life” through this preparation for the era of reunification. Through the relationships formed between the mentors and mentees that become much like those of an advisor and advisee, a teacher and student, or a parent and child, these young adults will be taught, equipped, and prepared to transform the future and shape the era of reunification.
"From the 1st Youth Mentorship Program in 2015 to the 6th Youth Mentorship Program in 2020...
1,092 young adults have received mentorship from
177 mentors that have guided them to pursue their dreams."

On March 9, 2020, GFI opened L’abri Young Adult Center – a center that supports young adults preparing to enter the workforce. Located in Noryangjin, L’abri Young Adult Center is in the neighborhood in southwestern Seoul with the highest concentration of young adults relentlessly studying for exams that are required for employment. Because there are many individuals who struggle to support themselves financially while studying and preparing, GFI strives to support these young adults physically and mentally in this process of career and employment preparation through this center.
L’abri Young Adult Center conducts youth capacity building projects (career consulting and specialized speakers), mental health support projects (therapy and counseling), multicultural arts exhibition projects (creative arts funding), youth welfare projects (monthly rent donations, food provisions), and more.
